You have to salute our local pet rescue organizations who work so tirelessly to take in abandoned, lost, and abused pets. If you think it’s a hard job, you’re right – especially when funding is low and these animals need essential wellness services. That’s why we wanted to share this success story as an example of how Hill Country Animal League’s Santa Paws fundraiser makes a difference.
One rescue organization that takes in cats and kittens had to help with a hoarding situation involving close to 60 cats. When the rescue brought one of the cats in for sterilization, our wellness veterinarian saw how bad its teeth were. We don’t normally provide dental services, but occasionally we do have limited funds available for animals in significant need. The rescue would have struggled to pay for this degree of treatment.
Thanks to our generous donors, HCAL was able to give a significant contribution to ensure that the cat got the necessary dental work. The rescue was extremely grateful – and the cat is doing extremely well.
That’s what your donation does. Our cost of doing business continues to rise, from salaries and the prices of supplies to simply keeping the lights on. Every extra penny goes toward keeping our prices as low and affordable as possible. Considering how little money most rescues have to work with, this is huge for them.
Stopping the continued growth of unwanted dogs and cats is the most important thing we do in this regard. By providing low-cost spay and neuter services to rescue groups and low-income families, we can help ensure that more animals can stay in their homes or be relocated to new loving homes.
Even the smallest donation helps, so please check out our Santa Paws page – and accept our heartfelt thanks for anything you can do!
